This is a reference to Job 33:14 from the Bible. The verse reads:

"For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it." (ESV)

or in some translations:

"For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it." (NIV)

In context, this verse is part of a speech by Elihu to Job. Elihu is explaining that God communicates with humans in various ways, but people don't always recognize or understand these divine messages. The verse suggests that God is constantly trying to guide people, even when they don't notice it.

The broader context of this passage (Job 33) involves Elihu explaining to Job that God speaks to people through dreams, visions, and even suffering - all to turn them away from wrong paths and preserve them from destruction. This verse particularly emphasizes that divine communication happens in multiple ways that humans might miss or misinterpret.

I found this a good reminder that God is always speaking. And we have to be open to hear his voice and see the signs.
