THIS HAS GREAT RESOURCES FOR BIBLE STUDY.
Mark 13:22 in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible reads:
"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect."
This verse is part of Jesus' discourse on the end times, often called the Olivet Discourse. The meaning of this verse can be understood as follows:
1. Warning against deception: Jesus is cautioning his followers about future spiritual deception.
2. False messiahs and prophets: It predicts that people will arise claiming to be the Christ (Messiah) or to have special revelations from God.
3. Convincing signs: These deceivers will perform apparent miracles or wonders to make their claims seem credible.
4. Attempt to mislead: The goal of these false figures is to lead people astray, particularly believers.
5. Danger even to the faithful: The deception will be so convincing that even the "elect" (chosen believers) might be at risk of being misled, though the phrase "if it were possible" suggests this won't ultimately succeed.
This verse emphasizes the need for discernment and steadfastness in faith, especially in times of spiritual confusion or upheaval.
This is why I send scripture to help you and me. Stay focused on being able to recognize the truth.
