When  was growing up, I noticed there's one thing that I had that no one could take away, and that was my integrity and my word.

As I got older, I realized I kept my word more to others than I did to myself.

Well, if I can't keep my word to myself, how can I expect others to believe I'll keep my word to them?

This proverb and it's breakdown helped me understand just how valuable a simple promise to yourself can be and what impact or can have on your life.

just think how you act towards or think aboutt someone that you believe to be of poor integrity.

I am thinking that I have given myself to much slack and it's like most of us have.

Perhaps this is why people break new years resolutions,  diets, and many other promises to themselves.?

Is it just easier to get forgiveness from ones self, rather than to acknowledge that a broken promise is no less broken when it's a promise to one's self or to one's spouse?

Well here is what God saifmd which spaked my thoughts.

Do you have any thoughts on this you wish to share?

Well after reading the breakdown your opinion may change?

Proverbs 15:11 states: "Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD—how much more do human hearts!"

This proverb conveys a profound spiritual truth about divine omniscience. The verse uses "Death and Destruction" (sometimes translated as "Sheol and Abaddon" in Hebrew) as metaphors for the most hidden and mysterious realms beyond human perception.

The proverb suggests that if even these most obscure and inaccessible places are completely visible and known to God, then the thoughts, intentions, and feelings of human hearts—which we often believe we can keep hidden—are even more transparent to divine perception.

The theological message is that God has complete knowledge of everything, including our innermost thoughts and motivations. Nothing can be hidden from divine awareness.

This serves both as a warning against hypocrisy (since God sees beyond outward appearances) and as comfort (since God fully understands our struggles and needs).

This proverb fits within the broader wisdom literature of the Bible that emphasizes God's comprehensive knowledge and the importance of inner integrity rather than merely outward conformity.
