THIS HAS GREAT RESOURCES FOR BIBLE STUDY.
I have found that there are many people who will pressure you to speak when you should not. Remember, think about your words a little bit more and if you feel a tug inside then maybe it's worth being silent or selecting different words?
I hope you value the wisdom in this verse.
Let us try to understand Proverbs 15:28 a little better. We will be using (KJV) of the Bible.
The verse reads: "The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things."
This proverb contrasts two types of people and their approaches to speaking:
1. "The heart of the righteous studieth to answer"
- This describes a person who carefully thinks before speaking
- They take time to consider their words and their impact
- The word "studieth" implies careful deliberation and wisdom
- The mention of "heart" suggests this is a deep, internal process
2. "But the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things"
- This describes someone who speaks without thinking
- They "pour out" words carelessly, like water spilling
- Their words tend to be harmful or evil
- There's no mention of thought or consideration
The main message is about the importance of thoughtful, considered speech versus hasty, harmful words. It encourages people to be like the righteous person who takes time to think before speaking, rather than the wicked person who speaks impulsively and harmfully.
