THIS HAS GREAT RESOURCES FOR BIBLE STUDY.

Proverbs 30:13 states: "There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up."

This verse is discussing pride and arrogance. It's part of Agur's sayings in Proverbs 30, where he lists several types of people and behaviors that are problematic. This particular verse criticizes those who are haughty and look down on others with contempt.

The imagery of lifted eyes and eyelids is a biblical metaphor for pride - literally describing someone who holds their head high and looks down their nose at others. This physical posture represents an attitude of superiority and disdain for others.

This verse serves as a warning against pride and self-importance, which is a recurring theme throughout Proverbs and the Bible as a whole. It's similar in message to other biblical passages that warn against pride, such as Proverbs 16:18 which states "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."
